It can be said that it is never really cold in Mauritius, because hey.. you’re on a tropical island! That does not mean it never rains. Find out here about the seasons, rainfall, temperatures and hours of sun in Mauritius.

Summer and winter

In the humid summer (from November to April) the mean temperature is around 25 degrees Celsius and especially in February and March it can rain a lot in a short period of time. It can happen that the sky is clear blue and you’re enjoying the weather at the beach and 10 minutes later you’re in the middle of a tropical storm. A few hours later the sky can be clear again. In winter (from May to October) the mean temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius and the winter season in general is very dry.

The warmest months is Mauritius are January and February and the mean maximum temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius. In these months make sure you’re close to a sea or swimming pool and your fridge is filled with many bottles of water. Still during daytime the temperature is pleasant, but don’t be suprised to see local people with scarfs and winter jackets. They are not used to cold weather, so to them 16 degrees Celsius already feels cold.
